Yes, we are getting a new puppy. She’s not named yet as we just met her 2 days ago. She was born in a litter of 10 on February 16th this year. We’ll be bringing her home on or close to April 12th. We’ve already made an appointment with our vet so that he can meet her, check out her basic health, and schedule her vaccinations.
I’ve got some pictures of her mom, dad, and siblings. I can’t speak for others, but new puppies are just about the cutest thing on the planet as far as I’m concerned.
How could anyone resist this gorgeous puppy in the arms of my lovely bride?
Although I’ve successfully raised 4 dogs in my life, I feel there is always more to learn. I thoroughly enjoy Cesar Millan’s books and videos so I’ve already picked up his book, “How to Raise the Perfect Dog: Through Puppyhood and Beyond”. The book is quite enjoyable as I follow along with his adopting and raising 4 dogs from puppydom.
There are excellent tips in the book that can improve your life with your puppy exponentially. It makes the all important point that raising and training a puppy is about giving him or her enough of your time.
Here are some photos of our new puppy’s family.
The new addition to our family will remain with her mother for another month. Not only is the nursing important, but that will give the mother time to properly raise her pups. She’ll be ablt to teach them the basics of how to be successful dogs.
