Bow Wow Beach is a Tremendous Dog Beach
Nola always enjoys her visit to Bow Wow Beach. If you haven’t been there, it is a priority destination for you and your pup. There are usually 30 – 50 well behaved pups swimming and playing. They socialize in and out of the water. On the back side of the lake there’s a very nice agility course to give your pup a workout. Nola loves to swim so we walk around the lake and I throw in a float toy for her to retrieve as we go.
Nola usually finds a friend or two as we walk around the lake. The dog owners have well trained dogs, many of which meet a role model standard. The dog normally behave quite well. Bow Wow Beach is in Stowe, Ohio and the city of Stowe maintains it very well.
The City of Stowe Founded Bow Wow Beach in 2007
Bow Wow Beach opened in June of 2007. One of the local folks informed me that the City of Stowe developed it for people but they didn’t get much interest, so they changed it to a dog park. The concession areas and changing rooms are unused. There are washing stations for dogs and separate areas for small dogs.
Bow Wow Beach is nestled in a 7 acre fenced area with a three and a half acre lake.
The city maintains it very well and they keep an eye on algae and bacteria. The city closes it from time to time for short periods, when bacteria levels get too high, so they can treat the water. They also close it every Thursday morning during the season for maintenance. Stop by their website and check the schedule before you go.
Many pups love the agility course
The agility course is on the far side of the lake. If you and your pup enjoy agility training, you’ll should like their agility setup.
