Welsh Corgis are a type of small herding dog
Welsh Corgis, a type of small herding dog, originated in Wales. They have short legs, a long and low body, and a distinctive tail.
These Welsh Corgis Christmas cards boxed sets capture the glorious humor and goofiness of these little sweethearts. There are two breeds of Welsh Corgi: the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is more popular than the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and people know them for being alert, affectionate, and smart. They can have red, sable, fawn, or black and tan coats, with or without white markings. Their tails are usually docked or naturally bobbed. They are one of the world’s most popular herding breeds, and Queen Elizabeth II has favored them. She has owned more than 30 Pembrokes or Corgi-Dachshund crosses.
The Cardigan Welsh Corgi
The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is larger and heavier than the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and it has a long tail that curves over its back. Its coat can be any color, with or without white markings. It is also alert, affectionate, and smart, but it tends to be more independent and reserved than the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. It is the older of the two breeds, and it may have descended from the same ancestor as the Swedish Vallhund.
